2014 Miami Masters (also known as Sony Open Tennis )March 17-30,2014


The 2014 Miami Masters (also known as Sony Open Tennis for sponsorship reasons) was a professional Men and Women's Tennis Tournament played on outdoor Hard Courts

 It was the 30th edition of the Miami Masters and was part of the Masters 1000 Category on the 2014 ATP World Tour and of the Premier Mandatory Category on the 2014 WTA Tour

All Men and Women's events took place at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne,Florida,USA from March 17 to March 30, 2014

  • Men's Doubles -Aisam Haq Qureshi(Pakistan) & Jean Julien Rojer(Netherlands)
  • Women's Doubles-Nadia Petrova & Katarina Srebotnik(Slovenia)

2014  Men's Singles Champion

Andy Murray(GBR)was the defending Champion but lost in the QF's

SF 1 -Rafael Nadal Vs Tomas Berdych(Czech Republic)
SF 2 - Novak Djokovic Vs Kei Nishikori(Japan)

Novak Djokovic(Serbia)won the title defeating Rafael Nadal(Spain)6-3,6-3


This was the first tour event of any level in the Open Era where two semifinalists(Tomas Berdycg & Kei Nishikori) issued walkovers to their opponents, resulting in no matches in the semifinal round.

Serbian Novak Djokovic on Sunday won his fourth Masters 1,000 in Key Biscayne(won in Miami on three previous occasions - 2007, 2011 and 2012)

This was the pair's 40th encounter, with Nadal emerging triumphant on 22 of the matchups, although Djokovic had won 13 of their 20 past confrontations.






2014 Women's Singles Champion

Serena Williams(USA)was the defending champion and successfully defended her title, defeating Li Na (PRC) in the final, 7–5, 6–1to secure the 7th Miami title


SF 1 - Serena Williams(USA) beats Maria Sharapova(Russia)6-4,6-3
SF 2 - Li Na(PRC)beats Dominika Cibulkova(Slovakia)7-5,2-6,6-3

2014 Men's Doubles Champion

The defending  champions Aisam Haq Qureshi(Pakistan) & Jean Julien Rojer(Netherlands)chose not to participate together

Aisam Haq Qureshi(Pakistan)played alongside Rohan Bopanna(India)but lost in the 2nd round

Jean Julien Rojer(Netherlands)played alongside Horia Tecau(Romania)but lost in the 1st round

Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan won the title defeating Colombia's Juan Sebastian Cabal& Robert Farah 7-6,6-4


2014 Women's Doubles Champion

The defending Champions decided not to participate together.  

Nadia Petrova was scheduled to play alongside Bethanie Mattek Sands, but the team withdrew before the first round due to Mattek-Sands's hip injury

Katarina Srebotnik(Slovenia) played alongside Kveta Peschke(Czech Republic) but lost in the QF's

Martina Hingis(Swiss) & Sabine Lisicki(Germany) won the title defeating Russia's Ekaterina Makarova & Elenina Vesnina 4-6,6-4,10-5
