Gujarat's
first woman Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Tuesday June 24,2014 said her
government was committed to 33 per cent reservation for women in the
state police force.
Interacting with the media after attending the passing out parade of 97
armed police sub-inspectors and 39 state intelligence officers,
including 25 women, Patel said: "Women empowerment is vital for their
social and economic upliftment.
In what could
be described as her first big-bang announcement after taking over from
mentor Narendra Modi just over a month ago, Gujarat's first woman Chief
Minister Anandiben Patel on Tuesday said her government was committed to
33 per cent reservation for women in the state police force.

"My government has decided to accord 33 per cent to women in police appointments."
She was speaking at the Gujarat Police Academy in Karai in Gandhinagar district.
