Former governor and failed GOP presidential candidate Rick Perry is joining the cast of TV show Dancing with the Stars competition show for the season premiering on September 12,2016

Rick Perry, who was Texas governor 15 years, ran for president twice, in 2012 and for this election.

Rick Perry  withdrew his candidacy in September 2015 when Donald Trump became the clear frontrunner

Rick Perry, who has no dancing experience to speak of, will be in a competitively tough field of entertainers with dancing chops and athletes, including 'Cryin' Ryan Lochte, who is still taking heat for lying about being robbed at gunpoint by police in Rio de Janeiro.

Rick Perry will be twinkle toeing against the likes of Marilu Henner, who took her first dance class at two years old, Olympians Laurie Hernandez and Lochte, and '90s hip-hop star Vanilla Ice who still has some Ice Ice Baby moves in his groove.

Other cast members will include country singer Jana Kramer, retired football star Calvin Johnson, Brady Bunch's Maureen McCormick, R&B producer Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, talkshow host Amber Rose, The Fosters' Jake T. Austin, and Little Woman: LA star Terra Jole
