2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 11 Auction - 1122 players sign up for the auction on Jan 27-28,2018


The 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 11 auction will see more than a thousand players go under the hammer.

The player registration closed on Friday and 1122 players have signed up for the auction that will be held on January 27 and 28,2018

In the 2018 auction, 281 capped players and 838 uncapped players have registered for the auction.

England captain Joe Root has also entered his name for the auctions. This is the first time that Root has entered his name for the acutions as before this, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Jason Roy, Sam Billings and Stokes were the only English cricketers to play IPL.

The auction will see players from around the world including those from associate nations in hope of a contract with an IPL franchise.

From Australia,Steve Smith & David Warner have been retained by their respective franchise
Othe Australians in the auction are - Mitchell Johnson,  Mitchell Starc,Pat Cummins,Glenn Maxwell,Shane Watson

From West Indies, players in the auction are -All-rounder Dwayne Bravo,Chris Gayle, Carlos Brathwaite, Evin Lewis and Jason Holder

From South Africa, players in the auction are - Faf du Plesis,Hasim Amla,Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada
AB de Villiers is retained by RCB

From New Zealand, players in the auction are - Kane Williamson, opener Colin Munro and Tom Latham
