After 105 days of non-stop action, drama and entertainment, Shilpa Shinde finally emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss season 11. She gave a tough competition to Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star Hina Khan in the finale.
The actor, known for her portrayal of Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, won the hearts of many people with her entertaining antics and cooking skills. The actor was often blamed for not being active in tasks and spending maximum time in the kitchen. But Shilpa never let that affect her game.
Shilpa Shinde, who won the reality show Bigg Boss 11, was the most talked about contestant of the season on Twitter.
Twitter recorded over 41 million tweets in the course of the show (October 1, 2017 - January 15, 2018). This makes ‘#BiggBoss11' the most talked about season of the popular reality show to date, read a statement issued on behalf of the micro-blogging site.
Over the weekend, tweets related to "Bigg Boss 11" recorded over 5.7 million conversations (January 13-14).
Mentions of Shilpa peaked on Twitter with over 3 million tweets in relation as she was crowned the winner. She also emerged as the most talked about contestant of the show, followed by actress Hina Khan and producer Vikas Gupta consecutively. Actor Priyank Sharma and computer engineer Luv Tyagi made it to the top five.
The official Twitter handle for the show garnered 5.3 million tweets across the season. The most re-tweeted post from the show garnered over 4,200 tweets and was the one where Shilpa walked down memory lane watching a video of her "Bigg Boss 11" journey as a build-up to the finale.
After over a three-month-long battle inside the house, four participants made it to the grand finale - Shilpa, Hina, Puneesh Sharma and Vikas. Host Salman Khan named Shilpa as the winner of the show, aired on Colors channel, on Sunday night Jan 14,2018
The show started with 19 contestants on October 1 and continued for 105 days. During this period, we saw contestants fighting a fierce battle among them. Thirteen out of the initial 19 participants reunited for the grand finale. Some of them even performed at the big stage hosted by Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
But what surprised everyone is the absence of 6 contestants. These contestants were not called for the finale.
Zubair Khan: Salman Khan wasn’t happy with the way Zubair reacted after his eviction from the show. He accused Salman of threatening him and said he has even approached the police to complain against the Bollywood actor.
Sshivani Durga: The so-called spiritual leader was also kept out of the finale. She didn’t have anything against the show, but she was friends with Zubair.
Mehjabi Siddiqui: She was cordial with everyone and thus it was surprising to not see her during the finale.
Sabyasachi Satpathy: His absence puzzled everyone as he was friends with Vikas Gupta and others. His stay inside the house was also non-controversial.
Jyoti Kumari: The Bihar student was one of the firsts to leave the house. She is out of the public glare since then.
Lucinda Nicholas: Like Jyoti, she also vanished without a trace. It’s not clear whether the organisers tried to contact them before finale or not.
